adela aurita II is as well a homage to adelita del campo
Adela del Campo (1916-1999) was a dancer, actress, anarchist / communist and feminist activist. She could escape the Spanish Civil War with the last ship and flee via Algeria to France. There she worked, among others Radio France and made broadcasts specifically for those who, like herself, were able to escape the minions of the Franco regime.

SKE

As you may know, last february was the month in which my composition “sonic blue” came out in form of a LP on the Austrian label Interstellar records .

Me and the label are very sorry to say that, due to some strange back and forth of information and communication, tiredness and I don't now what else, the Logo of the SKE was at the end not on the first copies of record... and IT REALLY HAD TO BE SINCE THIS FANTASTIC AUSTRIAN ASSOCIATION DID SUPPORT THIS RECORD!

We are sad and sorry about this, the SKE is an cultural and social association helping a lot experimental and crazy music in this land, supporting a lot of releases and concert series etc etc.

I want to thank here in my name and the name of the name of Interstellar records the SKE for the support!

Ich meine, für die Rezeption von „sonic blue“ den von David Toop beschriebenen und prolongierten „Ocean of Sound“ heranzuziehen läge hier doch zu obligatorisch auf der Hand und ist für Those who know bestenfalls ein mildes Lächeln wert. Vielleicht mit einem ;) , aber dafür ist dieses Werk ein zu ernsthaft angegangenes Unterfangen, sowas kann man nicht der Diskursmaschine als Schmäh zum Frass vorwerfen.
In aller Kürze: Angelica Castello hat einige von Heike Vester und Richie Herbst bei den Lofoton Islands/Norwegen getätigten Unterwasser aufnahmen (plus andere Fieldrecordings) mit Electronics, Subgreatbass Paetzold recorder, Radiorauschen und Tapes erweitert/angereichert. Der so kreierte, eigene Soundocean (ha, jetzt haben wir doch wieder die Verbindung zu Toop ;)) ist ein herrlich deepes Utopia aus von subtil bis ab strakt anschlagenden Klangwellen. Wir haben es, gelinde und ganz verkürzt gesagt, mit einem äußerst aussergewöhnlichen Klangerlebnis zu tun, auf welches es sich erstmal einzulassen gilt. Das bedeutet, sagt der ungestresste Rezensent, sich Zeit dafür zu nehmen, in aller Ruhe diese Reise anzutreten und im Soundmeer zu versinken. Gemeint ist hier aber bestimmt kein psychedelisches Abheben im Sinne von trippigem Schwelgen, vielmehr das aufmerksame Lauschen wie ein recht waghalsiges Experiment in aller Kratzigkeit und unermüdlichem Forscherdrang erstaunlich spektakulär aufgeht. Die richtige Voraussetzung fürs Hören dieser wundervollen Drones und Noiseeskapaden ist demnach auch, wie in den Linernotes beschrieben, folgende quasi Antierwartungshaltung: „The Sea does not reward those who are too anxious, too greedy, or too impatient. One should lie empty, open, choiceless as a beach – waiting for a gift from the sea.“ Berauschendst, Euer huckey. (KAPUZINE harald renner)

 Ausgangspunkt für diese in mehrfacher Hinsicht brillante Platte war
eine Reise in den hohen Norden, genauer: zu den Lofoten, einer
Inselgruppe vor der nordnorwegischen Küste – unternommen von
Angélica Castelló, der Radiojournalistin Susanna Niedermayr und dem
Labelchef Richard Herbst. Aufgesucht wurde die Meeresbiologin Heike
Vester, die auch selber mit field recordings auf dem Label
Gruenrekorder in Erscheinung getreten ist. Vester betreibt dort oben
eine Initiative, die sich den Schutz der Gewässerpopulation,
speziell der Wale auf die Fahnen heftet, deren Existenz durch
Erdölkonzerne und deren Unterwassersprengungen arg bedroht ist.
Aufnahmen, die Castelló vor Ort gemacht hat, vermengt sie mit
Electronics und dem Sound ihrer Paetzold-Subbassflöte zu einem
multiplen, gleichwohl präzisen wie assoziativen Klanggeflecht. Zu
einem magische Stück Musik, die der Musikpublizist David Toop  einen
Ocean of Sound nennt. Und die von Castelló um einen
wesentlichen, weil politischen Aspekt substanziell erweitert wurde.
